May 26- Students took a quiz over translating phrases and combining like terms. Students were in the computer lab working on iXL practicing math skills.

May 24- Students worked on making test corrections to the inequalities test. Students were given the steps for solving each problem, graphing, and checking. Students needed to redo each problem then students needed to explain what mistake they had made that lead to the wrong answer.

May 18- Students were given the day to complete the test. Once finished students reviewed translating written inequality phrases into algebraic expressions. Then students had to solve any 5 of the twenty on the worksheet.

May 16- Students were given time to complete the homework from the previous night as well as complete the inequalities stations independently. Test moved to Wednesday 17th

We will be spending the next week re learning slope, slope intercept and graphing of equations using the test from before break. H.W. is to complete the odd on the sloep worksheet given. Semester 1
December 13- Students took the open notebook test on Slope and Slope Intercept. Students will be able to complete the test tomorrow if they did not complete it today. Period 3 will take a performance matters test tomorrow to see how much inforamtion they have retained from the 1st semseter. This grade will only be used to replace a lower scoring test grade. Period 2 will take thier test on Thursday
December 12- Students made quiz corrections to slope quiz taken on 12/1. Students learned and practed how to graph a line in slope intercept form by couting the rise and run and plotting the y-intercept. Students were given back practice worksheets from last week to correct and redo (#17-22) H.W. is to complete all quiz corrections not done in class and the correction packet given on Friday as well as complete the practice items 17-22. Students need to have notebook up to date to use for the test tomorrow here is the link to the table of contents update.
December 9- Students got quizzes returned with a packet to complete for thier quiz corrections. This is due by Tuesday 12/13. Students must complete 1/2 of each section inorder to get credit. We went over what a system of equation is and how to graph sytems of equations. Students began to practice finding systems of equations.
December 8- Students took a 4 question quiz making slope intercept linear equations. Students took notes on how to graph equations written in stardard form. H.W. is to complete the Finding the Slope worksheet. You will need to turn most of the equations on the homework into slope intercept form before finding the slope.
December 7- Studnets took notes on finding the x and y- intercepts given a linear equation written in standard form. H.W. Study for quiz over pages on slope intercept in notebook. Finding slope worksheet is due by Friday- we did 1-3 in class today.
December 6- Students worked with a partner in class to complete the practice pages. If studnets did not finish then they need to complete for homework. The finding slope worksheet that was passed out at the end of class is due by Friday 12/9. Quiz Thursday over slope intercept

October 26- Students practiced writing expressions and equations from verbal phrases. Students took notes on evaluating expressions. October 25- Students were given time in class to finish the test from yesterday. We took notes on translating statements/phrases into expressions and equations. Students worked on finding the errors in exponent problems to help practice applying the product, power, and quotient rules we have learned in class. September 19- In class we went over the guided notes from the video that was watched in Algebra Nation (Students can view this through the portal from any computer) H.W.- Complete the power rule problems on the exponents worksheet returned in class today. Make corrections to any problems that incorrect on the product and quotient rule section.
September 16- Students were in the computer lab. Students viewed their FSA Math scores from last year to determine their strengths and weaknesses. Students also watched the Algebra Nation video to review the rules for exponents. H.W. was collected.
September 15- All classes continued studying exponents. We went over the product rule for multiplying exponents with the same base and the quotient rule for dividing exponents with the the same base. H.W. is to complete numbers 4,5 and 6 on the worksheet from class for both the product rule and the quotient rules (A total of 6 problems) This worksheet will be collected on Friday for a grade. I will check both last night homework (see yesterday's entry) and tonight's homework.

September 12- All classes reviewed how to correctly round whole and decimal numbers. Students need to make corrections to their tests that were returned today. Corrections need to be made on a separate sheet of paper and students need to explain their error and redo each problem that they lost points on. Students should use their notebooks and worksheets done in class and at home to help them with corrections. There is also tutoring after school on Wednesday.
September 9- All classes to a Test. Students turned in percentage problem worksheets and corrections to the multiplying and dividing fractions worksheet.
September 8- All classes went over percent problems from the worksheet from yesterday. H.W. is to complete the remaining problems on the back of the worksheet. Students also received the Multiplying and Dividing Fractions worksheet, if students scored poorly on the worksheet they were to redo the problems on a separate sheet of paper and turn back in both the worksheet and corrections to be regraded. Students also worked on the review stations below to prepare for tomorrow's test. I have included the answers to the stations below.
December 12- Students made quiz corrections to slope quiz taken on 12/1. Students learned and practed how to graph a line in slope intercept form by couting the rise and run and plotting the y-intercept. Students were given back practice worksheets from last week to correct and redo (#17-22) H.W. is to complete all quiz corrections not done in class and the correction packet given on Friday as well as complete the practice items 17-22. Students need to have notebook up to date to use for the test tomorrow here is the link to the table of contents update.
December 9- Students got quizzes returned with a packet to complete for thier quiz corrections. This is due by Tuesday 12/13. Students must complete 1/2 of each section inorder to get credit. We went over what a system of equation is and how to graph sytems of equations. Students began to practice finding systems of equations.
December 8- Students took a 4 question quiz making slope intercept linear equations. Students took notes on how to graph equations written in stardard form. H.W. is to complete the Finding the Slope worksheet. You will need to turn most of the equations on the homework into slope intercept form before finding the slope.

Next Thursday 9/8 we will have our first test. It will cover Integers, changing fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions, adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing fractions, and finding percentages from a decimal or fraction.

In class we reviewed multiplying fractions using the notes page and then worked problems 1- 5 in class on the Multiplying and Dividing Fractions and Mixed Numbers worksheet. Homework is to study for the quiz tomorrow on Adding and Subtracting Fractions and then complete 6-10 on the multiplying and Dividing Fractions Worksheet. August 30- Classes continued to work on adding and subtracting fractions. Homework is complete any 5 problems not done in class on the back of the Add/Subtract Fractions and mixed numbers worksheet
August 29- Classes reviewed how to add and subtract fractions. Homework complete numbers 10-14 on the Add/Subtracting Fractions and Mixed numbers sheet. Do as much of each problem as you can or explain what you need to do, even if you cannot solve the problem completely. Such as I know it's an addition problem and I know I need to find a common denominator.
August 26- Students were in the computer lab reviewing how to add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers. See learning links page for the math is fun links students worked on in class.
August 25- Classes practiced changing decimals into fractions. Fraction/decimal worksheet was collected. Homework: students need to complete the proof on page 5 of their notebook by converting the mixed fraction to a decimal and the decimal number to a fraction. If you did not get the examples copied down from ther board (this is mostly for period 3 due to having to change rooms) then use 5 5/16 for the fraction and -7.32 for the decimal. Once you solve each then explain how you came up with your answer.
August 24- Classes practiced changing fractions into decimals. Students took notes on changing decimals into fractions. Homework is to complete items 16-20 on the back of the Fractions/Decimals worksheet. Se the link below for the worksheet.
August 23- Classes made quiz corrections or took the integers quiz. We took notes on fractions and turning fractions into decimals. Homework is to complete items 1-5 on the Fractions/decimals worksheet. Link to worksheet
August 22- All classes reviewed adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers. Students took a quiz at the end of the period.
August 19- Classes met in the computer lab and took the Algebra nation Diagnostic test of skills. Students also turned in homework and survey sheets (due on Monday 8/22) There will be a quiz at the end of class on Monday on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers. See the cheat sheet in your notebook on page 4.
August 18- Complete problems 14-18 on the Integer Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division Worksheet given in class. Also, please remember to have the survey sheet signed and returned by Monday 8/22.
August 17- Students set up math notebook and began the review of integers. There is no homework this evening. Please remember to have the survey sheet signed and returned by Monday 8/22.
August 16- Have all materials needed for the class by Wednesday 8/17. Ms. Sieruta's Math Letter and information sheet needs to be signed and returned by Monday 8/22.
